The Exorcist (the first one) is good stuff and The Thing should be on any list IMO.

Speaking of The Thing, another good one by Carpenter is The Prince of Darkness.

Almost forgot about Event Horizon - it's sci-fi/horror, but I liked it.
It's The People's Cube. The most politically correct game ever! Guaranteed equality of results!

Gotta go with The Exorcist as well, scariest movie in my opinion of all time. I like the very first Nightmare On Elm Street. Most horror movies are a joke. I wanna be scared like the Exorcist did to me. I couldnt sleep for days when I was a kid and saw that movie. That's the one I base all other movies to when it comes to the fear factor.
