How in the HELL does an intercooler let you stretch your fuel further???????????????????

"Lucy! You got some 'splainin' to do!"

I know that they pushed 1500hp through the Stage-2 GT500 Intercooler with a result of 78deg IAT, that sounds like what you need.
Ummmm..................that info means nothing without AMBIENT AIR TEMPS!

From what I got from my search, the car is a Bonneville car and it is running a water box over the 5 mile run. Last year the engine blew up b/c the intercooler could not keep up with the previous 1000hp E85 configuration.

As far as stretching the fuel goes, I just got that from my local tuner, I think he meant timing not fuel.

I will double check on Monday.

From the Thermal Coupling Data Sheet that I found on their photobucket page, it looks as if their Air to Air setups are seeing around 90% efficiency on average. That is one hell of a lot better then what you read on Prochargers Intercooler Specs page. They are claiming 75% efficiency with ZERO evidence, at least with thise data sheet I can see that they are proving their claim. Even if Procharger could offer testing data proving 75% it would not really help them. They are achieving the SAE standard using the SAE standard for Ambient Air Temp. If you look at the Velocity Chart you will see that they are not using the SAE 77deg standard for Ambient they are using 115deg as their Ambient base. So if you compared them back to back, technically Velocity's would be over 100% efficient when compared to the Procharger standards.

I hope that clears things up a bit.

Also, I just think that the fact that FORD Racing was the main sponsor of the Hajek Record Mustang and that they decided to use the VTSRacing.com Intercooler has to say something about their performance claims.

Here is the Press release from the Salt Flats World Record set by Hajek Motorsports/Ford Racing using the Velocity Stage-2 GT500 Intercooler:

It is pretty obvious which way this thread is going to go.

The subject is irrelevant at this point as the original poster is going to an E85 setup.

Actually the 8.8 has been working fine other than some whine that I would never hear if I had louder mufflers.
