Its starting to look like it should be a good showing for the stangs that day.
Looks Good so far.
Hopefully we can get enough interest someday to do an outright track rental.

NHRA revised their rules for this year.
From the NHRA 2006 Rulebook.*Helmets are required in all classes. 14.00 seconds or slower must wear a minimum of DOT certified helmet. 13.99 and quicker must have Snell 95, K98, 2000, SFI 31.1A ,31.2A, 41.1A, or 41.2A helmet.
- Roll Bars required on convertibles running between 11.00 - 13.49 ET's.
- Roll Bars required on all cars running between 11.00 - 11.99 ET's.
- Roll Cages required on convertibles running 10.99 or faster than 135mph.
- Roll Cages required on all cars running 10.99 or faster than 135mph. - One exception: full bodied cars running between 10.00 and 10.99, with unaltered firewalls, floor and body (from firewall rearward - wheel tubes permitted) can compete with just a roll bar.
Faster than a 9.99 you need a chassis sticker and have the car reinspected every 3 years.
*Drive shaft loop required 13.99 and quicker and on all cars using slicks, including DOT slicks.
However Speedworld goes by IHRA Rules which is pretty much the same.
IHRA Safety Requirements: The following are minimum guidelines to use as a reference. Most of the safety requirements are in accordance with the current IHRA Rule Book. Additional familiarization with the current IHRA Rule Book will ensure each vehicle is race ready.
Elapsed Time (ET) of 13.50 seconds or slower
- Snell 95 (or newer) helmet mandatory for entries running 13.99 or faster. - Recommended for entries running 14.00 or slower.
- Full hood
- Drive shaft loop if equipped with slicks
- Battery hold-down
- Radiator overflow can
- Seat belts
- Neutral safety switch mandatory for all vehicles with an automatic transmission. If a manual transmission vehicle was originally provided by the manufacturer with a clutch interlock switch it must remain operational.
Elapsed Time (ET) of 11.50 - 13.49And so on, and so forth. NHRA requires, and IHRA recommends in most cases.
- Snell 95 (or newer) helmet
- Full hood
- Drive shaft loop if equipped with slicks
- Battery hold-down
- Radiator overflow can
- Seat belts
- Roll Bar or Roll Cage for convertibles - recommended for all others.
- Window Net (vehicles equipped with a Roll Cage only)

Hope this helps some of you.
The Pony Car Wars are over... The Mustang Won

I learned the hard way that if you have a convertible you also must have a helmet. They let me run a couple of times but kicked me off of the track after that.
