IF you don't drive the car on the street, Liberty and faceplating will be fine.

How much HP and at what rpm are you shifting?

    A nice C-4 with a t-brake and a stall would be fun!

Mike's Transmissions in Cali is great. Dan is a dealer for ATI and PA
You're not to the level for a really big name converter, but Mike's converter guy reverse engineered a Neal Chance converter and it works outstanding.
I bet you could get itno a really nice and CONSISTANT C-4 for around $2400 that can run all season with just fluid changes. and a damn nice converter for roughly $800.
If you want, I can make some calls Monday and see what I can do.
That 420 is N/A or on the bottle?
If I had dyno sheets and an accurate weight, we can pretty much nail the converter on the first try.

If you want to have a tranny that doesn't need to be rebuilt after 30-50 runs then get a TH-400. A basic TH-400 with a brake costs about $1,400. After 250 runs you may need to go thru it. You can drive it on the street all day long.

The only downside is it takes more power to turn.

So if you are looking for the best ET then the C-4 may be the way to go if you don't mind pulling it to get freshened up.

If you are looking for a tranny that will low maintenance and good street manners then the Th-400 is the way to go.

I run a Rossler Terminator 3 TH-400. It has all the light weight internals.
I use a 10" converter from Ultimate Convert Concepts.

    Mike's makes a good Th-400 also.

LOL!.........at 420rwhp.....A well built C-4 will last a LONG time, be quicker and a HELL of a lot lighter. I included LOTS of street driving when I made my first post.
    A turbo 400 is WAAAAAAY overkill for a 331.
