    Measure 26 spline Input Shaft

Anyone who has done a 26 spline input shaft.
What tool do I need to measure the input shaft to see if it needs shimmed?
    Thanks

When I installed mine I was told by D&D that they just use a dial indicator on a stand. I have one and we just matched the end play to the same spec as the stock 10 spline one.

???????????? that is how you can realy screw things up. look it is real simple press your new barring on and install it. there is no shimming. If you would like pull the trans bring it down here (empty of oil please) I will install it for you. or just call me and Ill walk you threw it. I did mine, brads, steves, andy( at this time) Travis and a few others it is real simple

Doing it the right way isn't screwing things up.

    Thanks for the link.
Did you have to shim yours or did it match without one?
I understand some have to shim and some don't.

Mine didn't need shimmed as the end play was the same. Most end up this way but it really should be checked.

I figure Liberty Gear and D&D say to check the end play for a reason. You know me I will check it ten times. LOL

Did you use an clutch alignment tool?
I hear some just use the input shaft as an alignment tool.

I installed the clutch first, then installed the input shaft so I used that to line it up.

That will be my plan. Did the shaft come with the bearing pressed on?
