    I need help! :[[[[[[

Ok so I was in Tempe tonight. I pull out and get to about 45 pretty quickly then coast to the speed limit. Then the car behind me turns on its lights...its a cop. He asks me why he pulled me over and i said maybe cause i was speeding lik 5+ over. And he looks at me and say are you kidding me your were going 60+. I ask him for the radar to prove that and he said no and just says i could tell you were going that fast. So all in all i got a criminal citation. Its marked 56+ in a 35.

First of all in the short of time when i pulled out to pulling over i would have to get on it pretty good to even get close to sixty. I'm running pretty much straight pipes out the back so he prob heard me. But had no proof of me going that fast which i didnt.

A friend of mine that saw me get pulled over told me when i go to court to tell the judge that the officer did not show the radar when asked, that it would get me out of the ticket.

I'm so scared right now i really don't konw what to do, does anyone have any suggestions for me and is my friend right?

    Tempe Cops are dicks..

All you can do is to go to court and fight it. If he's just saying he can tell the speed from looking, thats gonna be pretty weak in court. I would think a judge would dismiss it. If it was on radar, thats different. I had a friend that was pulled over by a motorcycle cop and asked to see the speed he clocked, and he refused. When he went to court he told the judge, the officer would not show him the speed, and said he could write anything down. So the judge asked why the officer refused to show him. Officer replied "It saves alot of hassles". judge said, "oh, ok, I agree".Friend was charged guilty. (He went to school,so he avoided points)So its hard to say in your case, really depends on proof.Good Luck !

You best bet is to plead with the court for a reduction in the offense.

Going in with any attitude towards the officer will get you no where.

The only consideration that the judge will listen to, is that you were going a lesser speed then what the cop wrote you up for. If you were going over the speed limit posted by 1 mph, you are, in the court's eye, speeding.

All they need is the officers word. They do not need a radar read out to give a speeding citation.

Only thing going to court might do is drop the speeding down to civil which means you might be able to go to driving school.....Have you been in the last 2 years?
