If you have power brakes, the diaphragm on the brake booster could be leaking and causing a vacuum leak. Given the age of the car, this is a distinct possibility! Plug the vacuum port for the brake booster at the MANIFOLD.............or pull the fitting off the line for the brake booster and stick a big enough bolt in the hose to tightly plug the hose.
