SpeedHut Gauges and SOS Pod Finally Installed

Well I finally got around to installing my gauges today. A few curse words were said, and a few heinekin's fell victim to the process, but overall it wasn't bad. I really like the way they look. I ordered them with the dim needle so I don't get the red ring reflection off of the bezels. Let me know what you think! (sorry for the crappy cell pics)

The gauges were 275 and the sos pod was 120. I also spent 30 bucks on a fitting for the temp sensor and probably another 12 bucks on the add-a-circuits.

A couple things I found during the install:

I didnt like how the SOS pod wasn't drilled for the large connectors on the speedhut gauges to pass through. I figure that enough people have these gauges that they could at least make them suitable for both autometer and speedhut gauges. Took a little dremel action to open up the holes for the speedhut clips to pass through.

It's worth it to remove the cluster and unbolt the headlight switch. Allows for easier routing of the lines from the pillar to beneath the dash.

The firewall grommet is a beatch. I didn't want to cut and splice the wires for the temp sensor. I did manage to pulll the clip through it though and all turned out well. If you're not running your temp sensor to the crossover this isn't an issue as you can pass through the shifter boot to get to the bottom of the block. I did't want to drain coolant so I used the crossover location instead. I have heard the temp reading is not quite as accurate here though.

I couldn't be happier with the way they look and am egar to get out and see if the readings are right.
