    Alternator- Which to Buy?

Need to swap out the alternator on the Cobra, and was wondering if anyone on here has advice on which one to buy. I figured the OEM version would be best, but thought some of you may have other opinions.

10-4 That's what I'm gonna do first thing monday am!

Crazy that with 18k I need a new alternator. I could have done without being stranded on the 101 and getting a tow at 1:00 am. UGH!

Well the car is at A's house and I swapped the battery with an red top this morning, fired it up, and it ran fine. I'm just worried that I'll get halfway home and it will die on me again. I figure replacing the battery and the alternator should do the trick. Guess I jinxed myself yesterday at the show when I made that battery comment!

Oh, and the AZ highway patrol can kiss my arse. I think 4 of them passed me on the freeway last night and none stopped to help. My cell was dead, and finally some nice gents stopped and let me make a call with their phone. Protect and Serve my arse!

That sucks! We sometimes need them for work from a theft that occurred and it is impossible to get anybody over to our place...

Swap out the stock Alt. pulley with a larger one to slow it down and get some more time out of it.

I'm on my 4th alternator in my 04 and I just crossed 15,000 miles.

First 2 had bad rear bearings in them, the last one something fried in the electronics leaving me stranded. All were FMS or FMS Reman. This time I went with the NAPA version that has lifetime replacement. So far so good.

I'll never put another Ford alternator in anything by choice.
