    Need Advice??

    gears for my rear..

    option 1
    3.73

    option 2
    4.10

lookin for a little more aggressive acceleration and "attitude" then stock. Nothing too major just more aggressive and quick on its feet. Any ideas?

I would go with 4.10s with your heavy car. Stock is 3.31 on yours. 3.73 wouldn't really make that much of a difference.

Yup, forget the 3.73's and go for the 4.10's. Makes our tanks feel a thousand pounds lighter and gets the 3V in it's fun zone a hell of alot sooner.

Is your car a 5 spd. or auto? My 07 is a 5 spd. it it came with the 3.55 gears and it's pretty "quick on its feet ". Hemi .....what ever are usually no problem.
What do you use your car for? Weekend, DD, show, at the drag strip every weekend...? If you race go with the 4.10's, if you don't go for the 3.73 if you have a 5 spd. and 3.55 if you have an auto. Also what mod's do you have on your engine and suspention?
    My two cents.

F&S Stangs - my cars a 5 speed and it has 3.31 in it right now that came stock in it. The car is deffenatly my daily driver and wouldnt have it any other way! But i also enjoy takin it to the track and being able to get it to get down and dirty. As for mod's all i have done for the time being is..

    -3'' exhaust
    -Ford racing exhaust
    -Roush cold air intake
-Ford racing suspension (droped 1 1/2 inches)
    -Hurst short throw shifter
-20'' foose nitrous rims (WEIGHT A TON!!!)

Soon the programmer and gears but lookin at those 4.10's, and bout to order them here real soon. Whatcha think boss?

    and...

Curt, i live right off of 83rd Ave. north of olive by the Peoria police department and the library. Roughly 83rd and mountain view.

Programer is almost a must have item. As a DD 4:10's maybe a little steep, but the 20 " rims will bring it down a little bit. It depends on what you can live with as far as rpm goes, especially on the highway. What rpm are you turning right now at 70 mph? 2000 +/- a few? I have 3:55's and at 70mph I turn almost 2300rpm with 18" wheels.
There are calculators on the web where you can plug in your info ( trans ratio, rear end gears ....ect) to get the rpm at any given speed. Play with one of those and see what you can live with.
Remember the higher the constant rpm the more wear and tear your drive train gets and you mpg go to shi*t fast.
    my 2.5 cents
