is the head, different from the heads? I thought the heads were on the top of the cyclinder and had the valves in it?

No there isn't any difference but I would get those heads from dan and put them on your car with new bolts and head gaskets because if you only replace one then you might run into a problem with the old head later in time.

I am just a motor idiot, I didn't realize that the bolt was broken in the head I thought it was in the block.

I had plans on replacing the heads sooner or later anyhow, just not for this reason. I understand the importance of the heads on the 5.0 and if I am going to replace them I would really only like to do it once and get the cam at the same time. What would you guys recomend for this combo to go with a fairly stock 5.0(replaced intake so far)? The car is on the street 10X more then it is on the strip and because my mother was the original owner I do not plan on selling it.

honestly people there was no heating, pb blasting or back out bit that would have worked on that rusty nub.

So any help with heads/cam choice?

I would go with an E303 cam would be your best bet.

I still run the E7 heads with a little port work done and E303 cam, 373 gears and stock bottom end with ac, smog pump, power steering, and pulled 268 hp to the wheels
