just for launching purposes? so you can just put it up on the two step at 4 grand(or whatever) and not worry about looking at your rpms for the launch?

ive heard of the stick guys doing the two step to help build boost, but not really the auto guys.
A two step with a transbrake is the norm with racers. I plan to set it 500 rpms below the transbrake stall. It "takes a shot at the converter" as my builder states. You will be accelerating into the stall instead of sitting on the max stall. It is also easier on the converter.

Nope TH-400 has been the plane from the beginning. When I get the 9" in I am going to pull some gear out of the car. With 28" drag radials it will cruise comfortably at 65mph on the highway.

Here is some more info on the two step/ transbrake reasoning.

With a trans brake most racers use a 2 step at a predetermined rpm below where the converter reaches peak stall speed. At full stall speed the converter is not multiplying any torque, so "2 stepping" below that will make the car launch better since there is more torque from multiplication by the stator in the converter.

otherway around. an auto will build boost because its under load. when you have the clutch pressed in there is zero load on the motor and its really hard to build boost
