I just purchased a 2003 Mach 1 and I've heard of people removing the air silencer. I was wondering what you get outta doing this? Is it louder, more power? I have an exhaust system with off road h-pipe, will I still notice the difference? Also, does anyone have any other suggestions that I can do on my own for extremely low costs or no costs at all? Thanks for everyones help! Oh, one more thing, cna the shaker be removed and a different hood put on? Thanks again!

There's not really any performance gain. Doesn't make that big of a difference. Some people will pull it and plug the milk jug just clean things up.
