    Painting my GT plastics.

How would I go about preparing the bottom part of my GT black? Its grey right now and has lots of yellow spots. Would like to paint it black on my own and want to know how I should start and the steps.

I'll be spraying a Fox hood black in the next month or so. If it isn't an immediate need and you are willing to kick in a few bucks for supplies, we might be able to work something out.

I need to get my side exhuast skirts painted, but green. I was suprised that maaco will paint an entire car for a few hundred bucks(yea, I know) but wanted $200 for just the skirts, nothing to mask off.

They can do it so cheap because they don't do any prep work. Pretty much a Scotch-Brite pad scuffing, then a single stage color (whatever was on sale at the distributor that week), with minimal masking and plenty of overspray on everything. You get what you pay for.

I don't know much about Maaco, but I figured they would do a better job than someone who has never painted before and is trying to do it themselves.

I took my saleen tonneau to Deer Valley Collision on 19th ave. They did a great job, and it was reasonably priced as well.
