sorry, I'm no mechanic -- what exactly do these heat exchangers do? Do the 03'/04' SVT Cobras have a propensity to over heat?

They cool the water for the intercooler. The colder the water going thru the intercooler, the colder the IAT2, the more timing the car will allow, the more power you make. It doesn't really add power just allows the car to use the power it was tuned to make.
