    Over Heated

I over heated the cobra last weekend and was surprised since the car only has about 28000 miles and I was only driving for about 15 minutes. It turns out that my thermostat went bad SOB. The car overheated to the point of engine shut down. Is this a safety feature on most vehicles for 03'? I am just wondering if I caused any damage any opinions? The car seems to be running fine know and the heat still works but I am still concern.

I think the computer starts to cut timing in an overheating situation. Not a pro on this but I think I've heard this before.....
