    Saleen Dyno Run

    Hi everyone,
I ran the Saleen on a dyno and was a bit disappointed on the results. As per Rob Wetzel who was a partner at SVC in Scottsdale here are his thoughts:

*The car was driven to the dyno and it was allowed to cool down for 30 minutes. The room temperature was 95 and based on his calculations if the temperature was 60 and the car had been tested with an overnight stay he believes we would have had another 35HP.
*His tune was set for 91 octane and for some reason with high gas prices I decided to try Costco gas and realized half way through it was 89 octane and the car was pinging on that gas. This probably has a small part in all this.

The final numbers turned out to be:
327.30 RWHP at 352.83 Max Torque.
A rough estimate is a 20% loss at the driver train so the engine HP is 393.

    Enjoy the videos

nice vids man! love the sound of your car. i dunno why you tried to be cheap with a s/c'd car and put 89 in it, but hey, its your car man. ;)

AZSonic- I realized it was 89 half way through. I noticed there were two grades so I thought the premium was 91. I was really pissed off once I saw it.

That's for sure! I'll have to try and burn off 3/4 of a tank tomorrow and get that stuff out of the system!

Do you think the crapy gas could of made a big difference?

If its detonating at all it will kill the power output and the motor. Just ask me I am on motor 2 in less than a year

yeah, it would make a difference in the output. not gonna say a major one, but definetly makes a little bit. did you have him tune it too? because he would not be able to use as much timing on a lower octane...

I'd make sure you go to a good gas station too, not some hole in the wall QT or something of that nature. Where was your car dynoed at? SVC closed shop a while ago right?

Throw some 110 octane in there and really see what he can get out of it
