    question on start up

On every car I've owned I know its a good idea to turn the key forward to let the fuel pump run for a bit before starting. On my cobra the car will crank for about 3-5 seconds before starting, So just out of curiosity I didn't allow the pumps to run for more than a second or two and the car starts a lot quicker more like 1-2 seconds of cranking?? what could be the reason behind this?

I have always let my pumps run for a few seconds also, never tried it quicker.

Good question though, have me thinkin.

Mine takes a few seconds to fire. I also have the PPRV removed in the fuel tank which causes the extra cranking time.

I've heard about the issue with extended craking time with the PPRV delete as Jeff mentioned. It also seems like the majority of these cars take a bit longer to start than others. Maybe it's just me though.

Jeff, do you often have problems with yours taking a while to start? I had thought about the bypass since I have the hesitation issue between shifts from time to time, but a delayed start up is not something I want either.

It takes a little longer, but I would say 2-3 seconds to fire.
I don't even notice it anymore.
Beats the hell out of having hesitation.

Interesting, because it seems like it takes a few seconds for my car to start now.

You don't drive your Cobra too often right? I would think you would have the delayed start up after the car had been sitting for a while, and if you start the car a few times throughout the day it wouldn't happen since there is still fuel pressure built up up in the system. I don't drive mine too often so I want to make sure if I do the delete I don't have issue with delated start up, I know its a dumb reason but it bothers me for some reason lol.

Silvrsvt does you car have the PPRV delete done to it? What mods are done to your car and did you buy the car with any mods done?

I believe mine does have the pprv delete done. PSR had my pumps out and they mentioned something about a pressure relief thing?
