    broken Fan SHroud

    BUSTED

My school had a late start due to test and after having breakfast with some friend i was on my way home. down the street there is a dip and i was going about 10-15 mph and hit it with out thought and when i gave it a little gas i heard a rare breaking sound that did not sound to great. my house was down the street so i drove it there and parked it in the drive way running and opened the hood. the fan shroud had busted on the left side and had broke off. i pulled the car into the garage and walked to school. on my way i found the the dip and picked up the peices.

Anyone know of a good site for this?
i will have pics of the shroud when i get home

Ouch, I would suspect it was already cracked, that speed and dip should not have broke a shroud. Cheapest fix, would be take it completely off, just don't go sticking your hands in there with the engine running while it is missing, lol. Best bet, hit eBay for a replacement, you should be able to find a used or reproduction fairly cheap.

so new problem. me and my father got underneaths the hood and when we started the car up after taking the shroud off.. well to make a long story short the fan is now an oblong shape and is now rubbing a line that runs through the center. not the hose but a small metal line. so i need a fan and a shroud now. im thinking about taking the fan off and investing in an electric fan and a new shroud.

i am open to ANY other idea?

If you put an electric in you will no longer be stock class, that would be a major mod, if you want to keep showing it as an original, I would remain stock. Remember you don't see too many 69 Grande 's around. IMO

yes but you can only be original for so long. i see what your saying if anything i will get a new fan and shroud and see what happens but for the summer i will put a electric fan on the Front of the radiator. that way its still stock and is cooler for summer driving. for shows i can unplug and pull out and put it in the trunk!!!
