Hmmm.... Our shop car is in the mid 9's with an 8.8, 31 spline axles, a tru trac, hpm arms, and an antiroll. It's had no issues what so ever cutting low 1.3 60' at 3500 lbs. But also, ur running a turbo. they come on a lil different than a supercharged car. it's all on how u set up the rear end and what kinda transmission ur running. every1 knows that a stick car with a spec 5 clutch *cough*cough*jeff* will lead to breaking something since they hit the tires so hard. but u def won't break anything on that 9". it's one less thing to worry about if u have the extra fundage.

there are lots of cars runnin low times on the 8.8 but apparently here there are some guys having difficulties with the 8.8s. i figured i may as well build it right the first time and hopefully save the headaches.

There is nothing wrong with that. As long as you have the $$$ its a nice upgrade. Im running an 8.8, just didnt want to spend the money, looks nice though. Are you going to change the girdle cover?

That isn't a cover it is part of the housing and is not removable like an 8.8. Everything enters the rear from the front side via the 3rd member.
