I understand. It's nicer to get a fair shot at winning. We try not to have that at our shows, but we're just human. That's why we ask for as many volunteers as possible. Then we have people who can verify if a car is classed correctly and change if it's not. As for peoples choice: I have a white car. I can't win unless there are no others in my class.

Hope he enjoys his undeserved trophy. And for all you who are thinking I'm just out to collect trophies, not true, just don't like being shut out of one by someone not being honest about his class, I'm seeing more and more of this at the shows and I just don't think it's right.

Those are all things to consider. I also saw the kid touching all of the car's at the cruise in on friday night. I think it is way kool for kid's to be happy and interested in the car's. My dad took my to the drag's and car show's when I was a kid. But it would be nice for the parents to watch there kid's a little better when they get to the car shows. But remember that some of these people are just not into car's they are just there for something to do.

Now when it comes to the car shows that we pay for and take pride in: I always hope that there would be fair shows out there that we really have a chance to win something, it just makes you feel good about the hard work that you put into your car.

I was pleasantly surprised when I won a trophy at the pancake breakfast, as I never thought that my car would have half a chance. You just never know how it may go and your next show you may take first in your class.

    Good Luck!

OK, I told myself that I wouldn't reply to this post but I am just curious on acouple of things. Don't want to start any beef's, just curious. One, there are clicks everywhere. Be it Chevy, Ford, Dodge, Mustangs, GTO's ect... You see it at all car shows. All "Clicks" try and park with each other at the shows. It was even at your last show. You parked with the rest of the mustangs. As for a peer voting show, most shows are like that now. And yes, clicks will vote for there clicks. Meaning, and there are some people that are not like this, but if there was a mustang in a class and a GTO in the same class and everything was equal (Be it mods or stock) being a mustang guy (Click) I would vote for the mustang over the Goat. Just being honest. Class'es at car shows are tricky. There is no standard at each show of how many mods, is considered a mod car and what kind of mods. Someone might have mod'ed there interior and not the rest of the car and enter mod'ed or stock. What is a mod? It is different for each person. The person you are talking about that won over you had some mods on his car. Maybe they were not major mods, but they were mods. He could of enter both ways. Lastly you said "Then there was the guy with a fox body and tons of major mods and this idiot entered stock class and took 2nd." This guy did not enter stock. He entered 80's and Newer Muscle Car/ Pony Car. He could of entered Mods if he wanted too but he didn't. He had an amazing car. I don't know about you, but I enter car shows for one, help out the charity it is for. Two, to appreciate other peoples cars and there hard work, and Three to see if there is something someone done to there car that I like so I can do it to my car! And four, to meet new friends that share the same love for cars that I do. If I get a trophy along the way great, if not I make a new friend. Like I said before, I don't want to start no beefs or piss anyone off, just putting my two cents worth in on this post.

I agree with all of you. The Copperstate ones are the best and fairest shows that I have ever been in. I always look forward to our shows. I miss the ones where we judged them on the point system. Anyways, I can't wait for our next one, next month! And Dave, if you really want to know which show it was PM me!

yea car shows never go as you expect you do a car show to basically hang out bs and winning is a plus but dont go in expecting to win. Personal taste many times conflicts with judges, what you think its good looking might be hidious to another. The judges at the show might not have been for the import look on a domestic car etc. Remember your not just getting judged on any 1 things its a combo, you get scored on paint, interior, engine, etc. As far as stock cars being in your class tech that should be an advantage you have more done in the class.

Interesting discussion. I'm tempted to participate, just to meet other people and see what's been done with other Mustangs. Mine is pretty basic and won't really be wowing anyone. I enjoy driving it nonetheless. Still debating if I'll send in registration for the April 5th show. PM me if you want to give me your thoughts.
