    Bigger Alternator pulley

I replaced the alternator because it was bad, I put a larger pulley on the alt as well to slow it down to extend the life of the alt. While driving it out to the track the car felt slower, Im guessing I am loosing some boost, do I need to retune and put a smaller blower pulley? Any input?

My thoughts behind it are....The alt pulley is bigger, needed a larger belt. The belt now travels longer to go around therefor spinning the SC slower.

I know its hotter out but I drove it at night and it was noticably slower.

the alt pulley wont affect your boost. the belt still turns the s/c the same way. ylu shouldnt feel any difference. maybe its because you have a wimpy cobra t56 in there =p

The alternator pulley has nothing to do with the amount of boost you are seeing, or the rate at which the belt is turning.

You could be experiencing belt slip, which I doubt unless you went with a bigger belt that is more loose.

You could be seeing less boost since it is warmer outside.

Did you run the car at the track? Did it run slower??
