    Drag strip & street tires

How about some feed back on some drag radials or bias ply tires. I usually get a little frusturated when a hit the gas and go no where with the hop on top of that. Mickey Thomson came out with some new street radials that react well on the street and the track. Nitto I heard enough about reacts well on the street but not on the track. I still have the stock chrome wheels, should I have a smaller rim like a 16'' rather than the stock 17''. I would like to go no wider than 295 or should I go wider like 315 but than you are into the 10.5 -12'' wheels which way more. I know I am all over the place with this thread. How about some other opinions.

16" diamond racing wheels and a set of 26" bias ply MT ET Streets worked well when I had the IRS. No hop.

Can I use these bias ply tires for everyday driving on the street?

Bias Ply is not a good daily driver.

There is no such thing as a street strip tire in my book.

Get wheels for the strip and wheels for the street.

Drag radials do ride nice on the street, but will not be that great at the strip.

315 will go on 10 inch rim with no over hang or problem.

I stopped taking my cobra to the track on street tires...all it did was piss me off spinning up to the 60 ft mark. Tires are one of the best investments if you are going to the track.

What type of tire can I use that will hold up at high speeds on the street & the track like 75 to 100. Will a drag radial respond like a Z-rated tire, meaning no wheel vibration and quiet?

I have Nitto 555 Dr's which are ZR rated. They are nice on the street but the track they....well lets say I am always pissed when I leave. I am running on 18s so that doesn't help at all. I have heard the BFG and MT DR's aren't too bad at the track but dont last more that 3-5k on the street. Better off buying a set for track and a set for the street
    like Burn Tire said..........
