    Extended studs?

I am picking up some welds and the rears are 15x8, 5 1/2"backspacing. Will I need extended studs? and if so how much/hard is that to do?

yes you will need longer studs. Go with arp 3.5's. You will need to pull the clips to get the axle loose. Hard part is you'll see a gear looking thing that works with the abs in the way. They are a pain to get through but can be done, if not have to press it off and press it back on. your probely looking at 150-200 labor if you go to a shop. Me and my friend did then when we did my 4.30s in my car , its been a while but i believe thats all that needs to be done. Someone will probely chime in

how long are the studs on the new edges? on my s197 the rears did not need longer studs, and pass tech everytime with open lug nuts.

you got to pull the axles pound out the studs and press the new ones in. they really arent that hard to do but the fronts are easier

Yeah I can't wait, I am FINALLY getting some mods done, its been like 6 months (exhaust) since ive done anything to my car, in the next week or so I will be putting on/in: 3.73 gears, (with all new bearings and what not) 4 cylinder front foxbody springs, rear drag springs, weld racing skinnies and fatties (rear is a 28" m/t et street) and I am probably gonna be trading Jay my 28" et streets for some 26" et streets because a 18 inch tire is too tall for my n/a 2v.......... at the moment I will post pics when everything is all said and done
