I was on a United Flight the other day and they have a chanel where you can listen in on the air traffic control which was pretty cool. I was able to follow along but they did say one thing once we transfered to Phoenix: "set to Phoenix altimeter 3002". What does that mean?

It means that you are going to set to Phoenix Altimeter 3002..

That is the current barometric pressure at the Phoenix Airport 30.02 inches of mercury. We set that number in our altimeters so it displays the correct altitude.

jeff doesnt know what the hell he is talkin about.
it means that phoenix is now 3002 feet above sea level, instead of around 1100, and that if they dont pull up fast, they are gonna crash. :)2005 v6 redfire mustang. yup its slow.
