Question about strut tower brace

First question this: Does a strut brace really work or just a show mod?
Second question is: Who has installed the Strange Development strut tower brace? Will it clear a Midwest Plenum cover?

if you think about it it seems functional. the more connections between the two sides of the car would make it stiffer... but thats just me and it probably doesnt sound right when i try to explain it lol

you want to go on one oof the roadrace websites and talk to people they have it or call the manufacturer and see what the testing results are.just my o.2.
