i am sad (cause i love your current mustang...) but super stoked about you coming to the Old car side. ! i cant wait to see what you find! insurance will be sooooooooo much cheeper even if you dont pick up vintage car insurance. are you looking for a bone stock, light mods or total restomod? what year/body style?

I love her too, but this econmy is killing me. LOL. I would prefer to find a 69 only because that was my first Mustang but am looking for anything up to a '70. I want to build it for muscle so any mods already done are fine and would rather do that to one that hasnt been kept to original. you are right, the insurance will be a lot cheaper and i wont have the payment which means more money to put into an older one. I am hoping to be able to pay cash for an older one and take my time building her. I do however, want to find one that is running so i can drive it while I take my time putting her together, kind of like what you are doing.

I hear ya! the eco isnt even suppose to turn around till end of this year and others say like half way thru 09 if we are lucky! you have the right idea buying outright! make sure you have a second driver. i am saving up for a lil pick up truck or some little part getter.

OOOO! and your tags/reg will be cheeper too! i could pay aprox 25 dollars for just plain plates....for two years... but its like 80 or so all said and done with her plates now. we have enough know-how between everyone in the club to give ideas!

another (silly) plus to old cars... if anything catastrophyic happens, you computers wont be scrambled in you old car!

I still have my truck, so i am ok there. My car isnt my daily driver so its just excess that has to go right now. There are a lot of cost savings to doing this and I will definately be picking everyones brains for ideas and help. I hate having to sell her, but at the same time, this will be a good, fun alternative.

Wow, changes abound. Sorry to hear youre forced to sell Bryn. And as for Kev, thats an even bigger shock considering all youve done and talked about doing.

Not really that big of a shock, I've done about everything you can do to a 95 GT Conv., and now I pretty much can't get out of it, what I've got into it, so why do more. I've always had older muscle cars and I just would like to get another, like I said I'm going to be very picky, when the right one comes along, I'll get it, in the mean time, I will continue to enjoy my GT, and when someone offers me the right price, well say-la-vee.

Seems like alot of people that I know are getting more afordable rides. Good luck to all of you looking for new direction. I may just look for a 69 or 70 also.

How was the Tortilla Flats run? I wish that I could have come; sounds like it was fun. What other events are planned for the club these days? I see that there is the Wild West shootout on Oct 11. Just 1 day after the B-day sounds like a blast.
