    s/c and gas mileage

it pains me to ask this question but when you do as much commuting as me lol highway cruising has anyone noticed a massive drop in gas mileage now they have the s/c? and will i have to run on 91 or 94 octane all the time or can i have it set to run on regular gas 87 or 89 octane ? its hard to find good 94 here, everytime i get it i have massive (ping) problems thanks alot all

I have been running with my super charger since January. With a conservative tune using 91 octane I have been getting between 12.9 and 13.5 mpg with City / Highway driving.

You can see the rest of the set up in my sig.

With the Procharger on my car if I didn't beat on it I got 17-18 on the highway and about 15 on the street. 2000GT D1 Procharger and exhaust only.

I did go on a cruise to Globe which is kinda like a little mountain type town out here. A lot of curves, very hilly, did 110mph consistantly and got 19mpg!!!!

The L gets crap mileage. I get about 13-14 doing the same driving I did in the car.

Supercharger and Gas Mileage should never be used in the same sentence.

I have a 2006 GT vert with a magnacharger running 10 psi, long tube and manaflow exhaust and auto. I picked up about 1 mpg with the supercharger as long as I drive normally. I have about a 45 mile commute one way. I'm guessing the improvement in mileage came from the tune and the magnacharger has a bypass valve so they claim the supercharger has almost no drag at cruise.

Last year, I had a Procharger and the stock 5 speed manual. I went on an 800 mile road trip (mostly highway) and got 24.9 mpg for the whole trip. Keep in mind that was a centrifugal and boost comes in quite late (>3800 rpms). You can drive around all day and never go into boost.
