I was wondering if anyone knows if taking off the the air silencer and the resonator box yields any horsepower gains. Is it worth it? Are there any negative effects? I've got a 2003 Mach 1

Just another stock Mach.
definitley wont hurt anything, and it helps air flow quite a bit.
Thanks a million. I guess I'll try it. Is this something you've tried?
Just another stock Mach.
Yeah its like the first thing I did when I got my mustang, Not too hard to do, just gotta tinker with gettin the silencer out of the fenderwell, you'll see why you should do it, its like sucking through one of those little coffee straws so once you take it off it opens it up ALOT more.
He has a Mach 1. How does that airbox setup work?

Well I think Mach's have the Silencer that goes into the fender well like mine did, he also has a resonator box towards the top of the intake tube which is really not necessary but what my friend did was cut it off and put tape around it, but Im sure theres a better way, correct me if Im wrong about the silencer in the fenderwell?
The silencer is indeed in the fender well and the resonator box is half way up the air intake. I guess I'll take them both off hopefully the shaker makes some noise. Do you think that it would help to put some sort of duct work up to the filter< from the bumper> just so it a strait shot and not swirling in the fender or whatever?
Just another stock Mach.
Does anyone make a cold air kit for the mach 1s?
