    With all the safety stuff going into these cars how in the world did it come apart like that? Thank God he's gonna be alright. I see now that when Bernstein hit the timing boxes it shot over and blew out Johns tire....Maybe

    Oh holy crap I hadn't seen that yet! WOW. Has anything been released about the actual cause/explination for the car coming apart like that? You don't see that very often.

    In his interview. John says that when the chute deployed it pulled the car apart.. Scarry for sure!!!

    I thought he said they weren't sure why it came apart....

    I know he did say that the chute is what kept him from losing his legs because it kept the car upright as his legs were dangling around. Kept them from being pinned and torn up worse under what was left of his car.
