Speedworld is my track of pref...although I've never raced at Firebird...haha

I look at Speedworld as a Mom n Pop type place (which I like)....friendly and have let me slide on tech rules every outing.

Depending on the prep that paticular night each track has good/bad days.

i've only seen one crash at either place. the one at firebird was a 200mph dragster that went into the wall just past 330'

the one at speedworld was a roush 427r that went into the wall at 110mph after the 1/4 because the track was too slick.

to me, the tech rules are there for a reason, and letting people slide shouldnt become a habit.

I'm talking about guys running 11.3 and needing a cage at 11.5
Getting sent home for that is anal imop when on the next run you may run 11.6.
Rules are there for a reason I agree and someone dipping out of the reach of "safe zone" obviously should be sent home.

I'll use 2 cars for example running 11.0s with no cage
    Mine:
Well built, no shady stuff, driver isnt a idiot and will get outta it if need be

    Some shitbox fox:
Slapped together pos, stock motor with a 300 shot, driver stays in it no matter what

Between the 2 drivers one I would send home...the other I would warn and ask to slow it down.

Once you break into the 135mph zone or 10's not even Speedworld will let slide. I'm ref'ing street cars that drive their, drive home, on radials...just for fun a few times a year and arent really all that fast...more so borederline at the line of needing XXX.

Speedworld warns me, but allows me to hail mary towards the end of the night which is cool imop (dunno if Firebird does that). I can race all night working on 60' etc, and run it all out last pass. They talk with me being striaght up...I respect that. I hear Firebird more or less comes at you with the book and says bye bye.

ok i see what ur sayin. thats no prob. a tenth or two is no prob. but ive seen an uncaged civic go 10s multiple times at speedworld. thats not ok in my book.

now my friend went 11.47 at firebird, and they kicked him out. not for the 11.47, thats no big deal for them. it was for doing it at 142mph.

Maybe if all of us pool our money together we could have our own strip? It seems so simple to prep a track right that I just don't understand why it's so difficult for them to do it....

The tracks try and save $$ so the skimp on prep unless its a big race.

And the funny thing is about the rules...running 10s is no big deal these days. Buy a 03-04 Cobra, swap blowers, pulley her up, do a few small mods and 10s.....sounds like a certain white car on this site. Sucks a car with stock motor and even stock exh manifolds needs a cage.....damn technology these days haha.

It just seems that all business is becomeing that way, they charge you more, treat you as if you need them and give you less. That would be awesome if we could build our own track and have it done the way we want it. We can always dream
