    * Drag struts installed *

    Every since I installed the new T/C and trans ( which kick @$$ ) I have had a horrible time getting traction . It seems the billet T/C added alittle to much and weight toward the front of the car so it wouldn't transfer weight as well anymore. So I installed a set of Tokico 5way drag struts on my Mach tonight. Last time I went to the track I was spinning for about 20ft when it hit second and around 10ft in third on the street it was even worse. After the install tonight I set the strut on the softest setting and went for a quick test drive. WOW did they make a huge difference, from a dead stop on cold tires it lifted the front like I wanted and spun alittle ( maybe 5 or 6 ft) then when it shifted to second gear all it did was chirp the tires . I let out of it shortly after hitting second gear, after all I was on the street and not the track. Finally its starting to look like I'll be able to get the traction I've been looking for. Now I cann't wait to install the rest of my goodies and head to the track! I see a new best N/A run coming very soon for my Mach.

    How does it feel with the struts on a stiffer setting for street duty?

    Like I still have the stock ones in, thats why I went with adjustable ones. When I go to the track I can set them loose, then tighten them back up afterwards so the wife isn't scared to drive. So far I'm very pleased with the way they work.

    Thats cool. If I ever get around to doing a solid I am going to do Tokico's all the way around and put an airbag in the right rear spring. Then stagger the rear settings and see if the car will launch straight without an anti roll bar.

    That will help you launch straight for sure.

    Now I need to save up for the rear shocks and an air bag for the rear spring then I'll be set, or at least on the right track.

    My only regret would be not doing the adj struts and shock along time ago. Once I get the rears on you'll have to go for a ride with me, then you can decide if thats the route you want to go. Or if you want to go with the high $$$ stuff that has seperate adj for bound and rebound.
