    Wheels/Tires

On the 2007 V6, the stock wheels are 16" with a P215/65R16 tire. If I go to a 17x9 after market wheel for a better look, what width tire should I consider maximum before I start to seriously impact fuel economy and turning ability? I'm still thinking that having all 4 wheels and tires the same, would allow for periodic rotation. Comments?

Generally a good width tire is a 275. It protects the rim from the curb and its not so wide that it will really effect fuel economy. You can run a 245 but I wouldn't recommend it cause all 4 of my rims have some major curb rash

Thanks. In reading about tires, I found a description of one that sounds good, but the widest is 255 for the 17". What do you think for daily driver in Phoenix?

I just bought a set of Nitto DR's for my car. You can buy just regular Nitto 555's in a 275. But I went to tirerack and searched by size. Here is a link for you. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compare1.jsp?width=275%2F&ratio=40&diameter=17&sta rtIndex=0&search=true&pagelen=20&pagenum=1&pagemar k=1&RunFlat=All&x=108&y=9

    or discount tire

If I remember correctly, didn't you like the stock GT rims? You should try to find a set of takeoff's....you'll probably get them at a pretty good price with tires and all ready to go!

    Mike -
You're absolutely correct. I'm still considering those. That definitely would be simpler. I'm also considering the following Black Machined (17x9) Mach 1 style.

There are times I think the retro look would look good. I'm also trying to be practical. As much as I love the look of your wheels, I imagine they are a pain to keep clean. Perhaps I'm wrong on that. I just know that my stock wheels have way too many grooves and recesses. It's a job to clean 1, let alone 4.
