    Wheels and Tires

I've been looking around and getting closer to deciding on different wheels and tires. Looking to see if anyone has either positive or negative feedback about wheels from WheelsNext and more specifically this particular wheel. I saw them on a black 06 GT and thought the 18x8 looked great.

The fellow with the black GT also indicated ... "According to Wheels Next (when I called and talked to someone), the wheels should have fit but I ran into a problem with the spokes of the wheel hitting slightly on the front caliper. They have a fitment guarantee but I like the wheels and I figured a thin wheel spacer would do the trick. I was also told I could probably grind the caliper down, that didn't sound very appealing.

I contacted Fred Goeske at www.wheeladapter.com, he's a really nice guy, said he's done stuff for Carrol Shelby. I got him to make some 5 mm hub centric wheel spacers. It cost me $100 for 2 and they worked perfectly. The spacers didn't cause the wheels to stick out and the car rides and drives straight and vibration free.

I also used 1/8" spacers on the rear just for looks, I bought those from stangsuspension.com

I also learned something else about aftermarket wheels in general. The manufacturers make the center bore of their wheels large enough to fit most cars. This causes most wheels to become lug centric instead of hub centric. Check this site for more info.

    Just for Wheels"

So I am wanting to be careful that I don't paint myself into some kind of a awkward situation.

I am also considering the following:

    Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS

for normal Phoenix valley city and highway use. Any thoughts?
