    Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup 2013

This year is the 25th Anniversary of the Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup (www.rmmr.org), June 13 to 16. If you have been there you know what it's all about, Freakin Awsome. Here are a few things you need to know now.....registration opened on Jan. 1, the autocross sold out in the first 2 days (150 slots). Base reg. is $ 50.00 (lower than some past years). There will also be MCA judging this year (oh goody) if you have an early car. As of now there are over 200 registrations in, the host hotel (Steamboat Grand 1-877-306-2628) is filling fast so don't wait around if you want to go. I am in and ready.

I appears that the MCA Judged classes will be offered for an extra fee for those who want to participate, the regular early classes will still exist with no MCA involvment. MCA is not part of the overall operation of the show, just a side show. If you are planning to go and are staying at the Steamboat Grand, reserve your parking at the same time since it sells out early, well worth the extra money to be in the parking garage. They are expecting 600 to 700 cars this year. This is a well organized event and has had participation from Ford, Roush, Saleen and Miller Motorsports.

No body has been talking lately so I thought I would bring RMMR up again. There is lots of chatter on Coloradostangs about the event. Would like to see some of you up there, this is a great road trip opportunity.

I want to go to this but my family is going to our condo in Rocky Point Mexico from May 27th until June 6th. I just dont know if I can swing both of these events. Dave if you go I might try to do it but I know Bonnie wont be able to go, my Dad mentioned he might be interested but Id say he wont after Mexico, he'll be glad to be home and not want to go anywhere. Marine John says he wants to go. This would be fun if we could get 5-10 cars to go.

RMMR 2013, the 25th Anniversary is now Mustang History. The second largest event with just at 500 registrations. Absoulutly awsome weather, not too hot and not to cool, no rain. I missed the autcross this year because it sold out in the first two days after registration open in 1/1/13, but the competition was great and lots of action. The Saturday Show was also great on the main street now that it has been widened. This year the show was accompanied by a fair with food booths and activities for the whole family, which is becoming a usual thing in Colorado car shows. There were a couple of Mustangs from Arizona. What a cool getaway. Roush made a big showing along with Ford Racing. In the end someone when home with a new engine. Looking forward to next year. Sorry system could not handle my pic upload, you just had to be there.
