Oct 20, 2012: Return of Monsoon Madness car show

You heard that right. CMC is planning the return of Monsoon Madness Oct 20, 2012 at Fort McDowell. It will be a judged show (still with peoples choice if you so desire).

There is a show meeting Wednesday July 18 at 6:30pm at Berge Ford in Mesa. Everyone is invited to attend to help plan the show and volunteer to help. The more people that sign up to help, the less time each person needs doing their job. Plus then you become part of the show and you're not just sitting around the parking lot waiting for the trophies. IF we had 40 voluteers, they would only need to put in one or two hours each. We have several comitees to chose from with help from all the show veterans. Judging, registration, parking, door prizes, trophies, raffles, setup/cleanup.

So far the plan is to start the show at noon and present trophies at 4pm. Optional banquet dinner at 6pm. We may have an optional breakfast event too.

We will see what happens at the show meeting.... We are getting the gang back together and this might just be our first joint club show! I very excited I just hope they agree to what we have planned!

I just spoke with John V. He probably won't make it to the meeting Wednesday but he is in if you're in.

I am so bummed. We don't get back from NY until late afternoon on the 20th and I am going to miss my first club show since joining. I would normally pitch in to help out with the show but just not in the cards this year.

Any chance of moving the "storm" to the 27th?

Can you email or post the letter we might use to solicit prizes or goody bag stuff from potential sponsors? Sooner better than later ... I'll see a potential contributor on Saturday 28 July.

If Dave & Jeff are running it count me in! Ill do what I can to help as well. I have a dentist appt at 430 and just cant get to Berge by 630.
My only request is I don't want to deal with food.

Even though I won't be able to make the show I wanted to let you all know that it is great to see "Monsoon Madness" back in action. Not sure why the club needed to change the spring and fall show names in the past. These are brands that we need to keep just like "Run to the Pines" and "Route 66". These are the shows that people will look for and plan for every year. In the end the club will get better attendance, make more money for our charities and develop loyalty. Rock on Monsoon Madness!!

I'm definitely excited! I'm curious to see what the driving test will be like. Definitely sounds fun!
