    Paint your ugly mufflers

I saw this on SVTP (or somewhere) so thought I'd give it a try. I always hated the look of the stock and GT500 mufflers hanging below the rear bumper cover so I painted them (GT500's). Looks about 1000 times better black than silver. They fade into the under carriage nicely and you don't notice them at all anymore. 2 coats of Rustoleum High Temp (2000 degree) flat black.

    Before, during, and after pics...

So you painted them while on the car still? I like that, might be a fall project. Id like to see you keep us updated on the longevity of the paint adhering.
Ive been dieing to do that myself or just buy black mufflers and tips, but its cheaper your way

Yup. I didn't tape off anything but the tips. There is so much VHT/rubber under my car I wasn't worried about a little flat black overspray. It would take about 5 minutes to do it right and tape everything off if you wanted to. Time will tell as far as longevity but I'm no too worried about it.
