Question Hydraulic hood lifts and aftermarket hoods

I am preparing to install a Trufiber GT-R hood on my 08 and have also picked up a pair of CRC hood lifts.
Has anyone heard anything negative about using CRC hood lifts with Trufiber hoods??
One website I saw said not to use anything but Trufiber branded ones on their hoods...

Trufiber GT-R Hood, Cervini's C-Series front bumper, Roush rocker panels, Cervini's duck tail rear spoiler, Steel Horse flush mount side louvers, Roush Hyper Black 20's and RS3 tires all coming soon! Couldn't swing the supercharger yet...

    Thanks for reading!

The hood will bow a little in the middle when it's closed.

    Thanks Wade!
    Is it very noticable?
    What about stress? Paint cracking?

It is very noticable. You can probably fit your fingers in the gap, but it is not enough flex to damage the paint.

    Holy $#!T ?!?!
I work in the paint and body business and that isn't going to cut it...
I really want to ditch the prop rod.
    Any recommendations?

Customise your hood or find an old aluminum saleen hood. Otherwise you are going to have a gap in fiberglass and carbon fiber hoods when using hood shocks. Or for $$$$ sake keep the prop rod. I relocated the prop rod hole on my hood to give it a lower look, just something different since I decided to keep the prop.

I'm using Redline Tunings lifts, on my VIS Racing CF hood, Been on for 5 years and no bowing or cracking etc. They are not a short tube which i heard are too strong and will cause the bowing. Not a side angle, but if you zoom the pic and follow the gap all the way you can see its even all the way.

I see what your saying Glenn, yours does look pretty even.
Looking at their website, they don't look super long but not real short either...

Are you getting the Cervinis C series light extensions? If so you will need the hood as well or the extensions will go past your hood.
