I've got this photographer friend who wanted to shoot the Roush... what do you think?

Picture number one, two, or three? I like the first one. I'm thinking we need to re-shoot it with the car in the shadow of a big mountain so it doesn't reflect so much. This will eventually be a 2.5' X 3.5' framed wall portrait.

Joe, what's your rationale on stepping back?

Just seemed the first photo the wheel is almost cut off, The second photo looks blurry and grainy, the third one is the best one in my opinion, just could have been taken from a lower vantage point. Its all good man if your digging it don't let me rain on your parade! Its a friend so its probably free.
What do I know my photos are taken with a phone!

I see. You are right about the first one being too much rock and not enough pavement. I prefer the first view at the angle but agree the third is better quality picture overall. The second one is too annimated. She does want to re-shoot it as she wants to use her tri-pod to steady the camera. She uses a camera that takes three pictures each time she clicks on the shutter. One is very light, one very dark, and one somehwere between then she uses software to merge the different pictures into one to balance the overall look. Once you get it like you want it then it is printed on canvas like a painting and it looks very much like it was painted. That is why the second one looks like it does as she was thinking adding the annimation would make it look more like a painted picture. It's amazing the photo-technology there is now days.

Sunlight behind your back at all times, unless youve got strobes to "flash fill" or can otherwise accurately compensate with exposure at the time of shoot or to a lesser degree with "post processing". And just do normal pics, skip the tone mapping. Its quickly becoming, if its not already, a worn out cliche that few do truly well anyway.

We are going to re-shoot it when it cools down. It is free so I'm not complaining. She gave me the first shot on canvas and it looks pretty good. It is wider in view on the canvas so it doesn't get right to the bottom of the wheels as it appears in the picture uploaded. Thanks for your feedback.

I think the pics rule. It makes your car look clean as $hit!
