No. This kit installs on the freeze plug on the top of the drivers side head. It can be installed with the blower actually still on the car.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks, Jared

You might want to re-word what your website says.

This Generation 2 design uses an O-Ring seal and a retaining plate to secure it in the cylinder head. A benefit to the newer design is that it can be installed on supercharged applications (03 Cobra-style set-ups) without removing the supercharger or the transmission. Additionally, this newer design allows more flexability for customers who desire to use AN fittings and stainless steel braided hose or other hose variations.

Unless I'm missing something why would we need to reword it? That statement basically says that the GEN II kit can be installed on your car without removing the trans or blower.

Maybe I misunderstood your original response. Or I should have worded my question differently.

I thought when you said No, you were saying that I was incorrect and the trans does need to be dropped. After reading it again I think I understand that you were saying no, i dont need to drop the trans.

So on my 03 Mach do you just put the car on a hoist and install from the underside?

I can see how my reply might have thrown you off so I'm sorry about the confusion.

For the mach-1 and 03-04 cobra you actually don't need a lift as the kit gets installed from the top. Here's a link to the GEN1 install. The GEN II install is basically the same except it uses an o-ring on the head fitting instead of the older GEN1 fitting which needs to be pressed in.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks, Jared

Thank you! All of the other kits I have seen installed on the back of the heads and crossed over from one head to the other. I see how this one works now. Thank you.

Forgot to add that my engine is out of the car right now being rebuilt, so the timing is good. :)

I am looking at installing this kit on my "hybrid" Mustang. Hybrid in that it's a 96 Cobra with 04 heads and 01 intake. It's a road race car. No street use.
I'm using a modified 96 crossover tube. I have no heater core, the hose from the passenger side head goes right back under the intake. There is no EGR. Radiator hoses are stock layout.

Any issues using this kit on my car? Where does the outlet from long hose connect? Some of these kits appear to connect to the back of the other head but the size of the "T" makes me think this connects to a larger radiator hose. Any installation instructions available so I can see how this works?
    Thanks
    Jimmy
