Changing Engine Oil on a 2007 GT500

ive been using the motorcraft oil in the shelby for over a year. no problems at all. I dont no if that is the only oil approved by ford but i no mobil 1 doesnt make 5w-50 or its just REALLY hard to find. ive had sanderson do the changes on it and have been very happy with their service.

Mobile 1 is offered in a 5W-50 grade; it's just not readily available here in the states. You can buy it mail order though. The Motorcraft 5W-50 and Castrol Syntec 5W-50 are the only oils that I am aware of that are certified to comply with the Ford WSS-M2C931-B spec for 5W-50. There are several 5W-50 synthetic oils that exceed the spec but certain aspects, such as higher levels of Phosphorous (in ZDDP), probably keep them from fully complying, plus the cost of certification may be prohibitive.

Yes ... the owner's manual states 6.5 qts with filter change.

I called my dealer and he has Full Synthetic 5W50. So I don't see a problem. Plus I have two free oil changes comming.
