do you need a face shield I found one on craigslist but there is not a flip down part just the helmet.
Me and Bill (Billyboss) will be there. I wanna do a couple baseline runs stock before the modding begins.

Call Firebird to be sure...and talk to one of there Tech people if you can.
What I do know is that when I went to ProAutosports to see what they do, I bought an open face helmet from them so I could talk with the instructors more freely.
I don't think it has a face shield. If it does it is very small.
At Infineon I bought a fire resistant helmet sock to more or less bring it up to their safety standards, which was SA 2005.
This helmet/sock combo now belongs to my wife.
We bought me a new full face/shield SA 2005 that they had on sale out there.
So it was a good trade! LOL!
I would recommend an SA 2005 rating on the back of the helmet outside, and an SA 2005 label on the inside.
If you have those two you should be able to get past any helmet tech issues anywhere.
SA 2000 safety ratings are now 10 years old, I believe for 2011 they will be outdated...hence SA 2005 ratings.
However I'm also new to the helmet scene and there are probably much more knowledgeable folks on this site that can weigh in with more info.
There may also be a safety equipment vendor at the track, and they may have helmets there.
They will certainly be able to advise you on proper fitting...some vendors at tracks might be able to rent you a used one...
One thought to keep in mind is how much is your brain worth?
And you want to make sure that it fits you well.
If you do go the Craig's List route you want to be sure the pads that the helmet came with are included.
That open face one I have has 2 sets. You want the helmet to be good snug on your head and cheeks but not too tight that you are literally chewing on your cheeks.
Changing the pads to thicker or thinner can help.
Hope this is helpful.
Fazm thanks I will try that.
IansBAJ I've been told that a stock 4.6 should/could be in the mid 13s, if you get the tires to hook up.
Thanks for all the help! I know thats why I was worried cause stock is mid 13s and I have CAI and tune and 4.10s! I gotta look into a helmet quick!
I do know that if you go down to Firebird and ask for ProAutosports at the gate they'll point you in the right direction.
See Vicki, she is a very well known nationally Safety vendor.
She can help you with a helmet, and may have a used one you can buy.
That way it'll fit and since you are in a pinch timewise, might be the easiest solution.
Thanks so much I am working on getting one now but if it comes down to it thats what I will defiantely do.
You are welcome, heads up though I know she is there during the afternoon and early evening, but I don't know how late.....
