    MIL's Again

After installing the mil eliminators on my 00 gt and clearing the code... every few weeks (probably 3-4) the light will come back on with the same code. The code is P0430 catalyst system below threshold bank 2. I got a second set of mil's and put them on... same result. I am wondering if because i ran the car for a few weeks without MIL's if it somehow fouled the oxygen sensor and i need to replace that? Anyone have any ideas?

the setup is a borla cat back with a bbk offroad x-pipe.

Thanks for any input. Much appreciated.

idk after the plug in didnt work i went with the other pair they sell were you splice them in yourself. but i guess just wait and see. also i heard that ford motorcraft 02 sensors are the best to use. and if you have bosch 02 sensors try switching. they are like 115 for one though so can get expensive.

the up stream sensors wouldn't have anything to do with that.. try different mils or shut off the downstream o2s in the tune..

I had the same issue with mine and finally went to the mtoorcraft ones and the problem hasn't been back. If you need some PM and I'll see if I can get you a break on the price here at Five Star.

just for the hell of it i pulled the left rear o2 and put it on the right side and vice versa with the other o2... light came back on a few weeks later and the code was for bank 1 this time instead of the previous code of bank 2..... now know its one of my 02s that are bad... only 70k miles on them but i guess things happen. Thanks for the input any how.

Turns out it was the MIL's from americanmuscle that were no good. Hooked up to the scanner to monitor o2 oscilation(sp?) they were working properly most of the time but every so often would glitch and flag the computer and after a certain amount of flags would put my service engine light back on... went to radio shack and made my own harnesses (6 bucks in parts) works great now.

May I ask a stupid question here???

Will a 98 GT require MIL eliminators? Someone told me they were only for the '99-up.....
