Ford vs GM V.2 ?
Speedworld offered me Sunday May 30th as the last day of "cool" weather for another pass at this event... we would have the track to ourselves, and much more organized this time.
Who would be in?
to go over the new race, it would be as follows...
the ONLY classes are Ford and GM, however if I get enough interest, I WILL make a 10.50 and faster class with indexing to make things fair as we only had a few faster than that time the last time around with the majority being 11.0-13.0
Matching will be done by ET only - no tire or time classes. These times will be recorded for the first 2-3 hours of the day with as many passes as you want to get in. If you make multiple passes we will average the times and match you accordingly, tossing out any far off passes such as 12.0, 12.1 and 12.9... your average will be based off 12.0 and 12.1.
The day will start at around 9:00 am with test and tune for everyone to get their times, passes etc, lunch at 12:00 with burgers and fries with a drink cooked by speedworld for $5.00 per lunch. While you are at lunch we will be putting up a white board with the matches based upon ET with the goal being vehicles within 2-3 10ths of each other. As with the race before, 1 point to the winner and most points wins the event. If the case comes up where we are left with a 11 second car and a 13 second car, we will index that run only to make it fair based upon runs previously WITHOUT the ability to break out unless it is more than 3/10ths off your index time, but I want to do this as little as possible as heads up is a lot more exciting than "even" racing where you have to make consistent passes over and over. when the runs are done and we make our last pass, we will tally up the runs on site, award a winning side, and hand out any/all prizes awarded by sponsors at the event. If we again are stuck with outnumbered sides such as more fords or more gms, we will again match up like sides for no points OR we can also select certain cars to run twice for their side if they choose.
Keeping it this simple should be a lot of fun and cut down on the issues we had last time.
Please let me know if you would be interested.
