    Air intake

Can someone tell me if this is true or not.
I was talking to the window tint guy who sells other parts and installs them, He told me about a air intake I think it was called for my car. He said that it would make it run faster and that it would be better on gas. Is this true? Do any one you have something like this on your cars? I can always use to save money for sure.

well, they do help with gas, once you get over the sweet sound your car will make with it, and let up on the gas a little. hehehe. i personally love the whoosh that my jlt cold air makes. plus it was color matched. and if i am not mistaken jlt sponsors the site. so nothing like supporting the club sponsors.

Just remember that with the new Mustangs, a computer reprogram is needed when eliminating the stock air box and going with an aftermarker cold air intake.

Just for future reference, is that something easily done or will I have to take it to a specialist to have it done? Or would the guys putting it on know what they are doing to reprogram the computer?

99% of the time people will just buy a handheld tuner, such as a SCT Xcal or Diablosport Predator. This will allow you to do it yourself.

yea, i did not think of that, but there is a good point. i personally took mine in and had it tuned, but then again, i had a 2.8 pulley that they had to tune for.

Your's is different than the 05 and up Mustangs. Just adding a Cold Air Kit requires a reprogram of the PCM on the 05 and up.

Just a CAI will make the car run really lean from what I recall.

NA cars with a personal tune will wake it up...SOTP feel for sure.

I don't know that it would do anything to save fuel. If that's all you want, just use a drop-in K&N, use Mobil 1 fully synthetic oil and air your tires up to the max.

Sux about the re-tune on the new cars... never heard of that before.
