    04 Cobra motor in Sandrail

Hi Guys I havent been active on here in awhile because I sold my 03 cobra. Since then I have purchased a sand rail with a TT 4.6 motor. My question is......I had it out this weekend and I walked out this morning and noticed water/antifreeze dripping from the bottom of the oil filter right at the base where the filter is seated. I pulled the dipstick and noticed that the oil wasnt dark black it was a little lighter than I thought it should be. Anyone have an idea? Thanks for your response

Oil definitely shouldn't be black under any circumstances.

Coolant is pumped through passages in the engine block around the cylinder heads. I have no idea why you would be seeing coolant at/around the oil filter unless there is a crack in the block allowing the coolant to reach the crankcase or just run down the block to the filter... just a wild guess.

I think your best off towing it straight to a mechanic. Anything said on here will be shooting in the dark.

Head Gasket. Depending on how enclosed your engine area is it could be a difficult fix or an expensive one. Also check your coolant tank and see if there is oil in there.

I guess I didnt mean black. I was just talking a shade of black. The engine compartment is wide open the motor can be worked on from any angle. Any Ideas on who is capable of working on a motor like this. I know of PSR is there any more that are qualified?

I would give it to psr. would be something cool to add to their shop for a few days. to me it sounds like a blown head gasket or even an intake manifold gasket. You water jackets could be leaking into the oil and mixing around. Just make sure you dont run it and if i were you id make sure there is some antifreeze and that you DONT take you time. Hopefully there is enough oil so it doesnt rust but make sure you do get this done fairly quick.
