    Cheap camera mount

I looked around for an in-car camera mount for my digital camera (for the strip and the road course) and couldn't find what I was looking for for less than an arm and a leg and stumbled a thread on an M5 board (I'd link it but that site appears to be dead???)

Looked like a great idea so I tried it and it turned out great. Really just a PVC pipe and some U-bolts w/wingnuts. I even added an extra joint to pivot up/down. Not bad for $8 and and 2 beers worth of time.

Thats definitely cool. Would also like some pics on how you mounted the camera. I might have to make me one of them.

The camera mount is the easiest part. Your camera should have a threaded insert in the bottom. I found a thumb screw that had the same threads and just drilled a hole in the tube and screwed the camera to it with the thumb screw.

Lol, duh. I shouldve figured that out. So, care to sell some to members? Or give the parts list and where you got it so we know what to shop for?

You would outdo me! I bought the CruiseCam for $25. Not my car:

I couldn't find nothing like that CruiseCam when I was looking or I just woulda picked one of those up. Everything I found was carbon fiber and $150+.

All my parts came from Home Depot. Really all you need is the PVC pipe, 2 u-bolts to mount to the headrest, thumbscrew, coupler for the PVC pipe, wing nuts for the u-bolts, and a u-bolt that fits around the coupler. Throw in a dap of glue and some spraypaint and that's about it. Oh, and 2 beers.
