I don't think any of the dr will last as long as the Nittos... nittos need track prep to work at the track... this new compound.. how do you know your buying the new compund? new tread design? are they still called 555R?

Same tread design and same markings on them. Easiest way to tell is to simply feel the tire, but this requires you to know what the old vs. new compound feels like. They feel very different to the touch as you can feel how much softer the new compound is.

Good track prep and a REALLY long burnout before a run will get them to do pretty well if you run them at about 15-16 psi.

Might as well run the Nittos on the street and pick up a cheap set of rims to throw some ET streets on. It will be cheaper in the long run.

I have had both Nittos (with the new compound) and Toyo Proxes. As far as traction goes the Toyos are by far better than the Nittos. Im seeing pretty much the same wear, each have only lasted me about 6 months. Im going to go with the Toyos again for my next set.

I have the 28" tall 275-50-17's drag radials for the street. Tires don't last for me. I wonder why?
