What a mess last night. As a few of you know, one of my hobbies is collecting die-cast cars, last night I took a bunch (around 500) out to the cruise-in to sell. Everything was going well until the weather opened up on yours truly. Everyone scattered, except for several guys who I think came from the Import area, who grabbed the canopy and helped get things into the trailer, all the while being pelted with rain and high winds, we were soaked to the bone and standing in at least 2" of water, with lightning all around. Needless to say it was a no win scenario, the canopy was destroyed, all the cars packaging got soaked, I estimate around $1000 in damage, as I'm having to remove cars from their packages in order to at least save the cars, really sucks, as I had about 50 highly collectible cars, and some were very rare.

I took a pretty bad financial hit (lost sales), as I was to go to a weekend long show up north that would have had a draw of at 10- 20,000 people. So that got screwed up.

After I see what cars can be saved, I'll take some of the high end cars and place them into some 1/64 scale dioramas that I have, I'll post some up when I get a few finished, these will make great christmas gifts, I'll probably only be able to make up about 10 or so, so they'll be limited.

Ya but those concession trailers are pretty expensive, I had the inclosed trailer but the wind blew the rain right into the trailer as we were trying to load things in.

When I got home I pulled my wallet out of my pants and poured water out of it. I was so soaked you would have thought I fell into a lake.

No, spending all day in the garage pulling cars out of wet packages, worse hit was a 1996 Olympics Cory Mac Rail Dragster worth about $175.00 in the unopened package, was able to save the car but the box is history.
