I have a 68 coupe that I've been trying to restore for 7 years without much success since I'm a DIYer. I have the body stripped of all parts down to bare metal, cut out spot welds and removed quite a bit of rusted sheet metal, and tried doing some body work, but have run to the end of my DIY abilities. At this point, I'm considering two options:

1) Find a reputable body shop and just pay them to perform body work and get it into primer. Haven't had any luck finding a shop that doesn't do warranty work. Can anyone recommend a shop, preferrably on the west side?

2) Hire a freelance restorer to work on my car at my garage or his garage, at a casual pace. Freelancer would need his own welding rig since I don't have one. I have large air compressor and sanding/body tools.

At this point either option sounds good. I'm not looking to make a show car with a mirror finish, just want a good job done.

If anyone can recommend a freelancer who has his own shop and looking for work, or who could come to my house to do the work, I have funding and am eager to get it done. Just need a referral. This could be a fun project for anyone looking for work, and/or a restoration job on the side. And like I said, I'm not in a hurry.
